FAQ: When should I switch from cross-ventilation to tunnel ventilation?

Cross-ventilation works fine for moderate temperatures and minimum winter ventilation. Once outside temps hit 30°C or above, switch to tunnel mode—the wind-chill effect from high-velocity airflow can make birds feel 5–7°C cooler than the actual house temperature.
